High Beam Assist.

Using the same windshield mounted camera as the LKA system, High Beam Assist (HBA) scans the road ahead of Elantra, monitoring for street lights, as well as headlights and taillights of surrounding vehicles in front. Upon detection, the system automatically adjusts headlight range, switching between high and low beam. HBA is active at speeds of 45km/h or above, and operational once the light switch (on the indicator lever), is placed in the Auto position and the lever pushed forward away from the driver.

Driver Attention Warning.(DAW)

Driver Attention Warning.(DAW)

At speeds of 64km/h or above, Driver Attention Alert (DAA) uses the windshield mounted camera to continually monitor the vehicle’s position within the lane, whilst also tracking steering inputs, brake pedal inputs, as well as time since last break. Should the system detect careless driving (such as sudden steering/braking inputs and/or inability to keep within lane), the ‘Attention Level’ display on the cluster will continually decrease. Should the level decrease to a certain threshold, the DAA system will recommend that the driver take a break.

Dynamic drive.

Dynamic drive.

Australian drivers tell us they want a car to have good body control, a sporty (but not rigid) ride, yet still feels comfortable. It's a challenging mix. That’s where our rigorous chassis localisation process makes all the difference, tuning each new model’s suspension and steering systems to deliver excellent, dynamic handling on all our roads.

Enhanced safety.

Enhanced safety.

There aren’t many countries with road conditions as varied as Australia’s – and a quality car needs to be comprehensively re-tuned if it’s to safely handle all of them. Our Australian chassis engineering team typically go through 15 to 20 front-end suspension permutations, and 30 rears, to achieve the ideal local balance of ride, handling and safety.

Superior ride.

Superior ride.

A beautifully balanced ride, like all good things, takes time and never happens by accident. That’s why our local tuning program is a meticulous collaboration of engineers, technicians, product planners and test drivers working in global and local teams to ensure your next new Hyundai meets and exceeds your driving expectations on every Australian road.
